COMMUNITY SERVICE
Receive Community Service Hours
Here at the Never-Fading Poppy Project, we typically give out three hours of community or NHS hours per five cards made (which is one card kit). Card kits contain five blank cards and five envelopes for you to make your own.
The document embedded at the end of this page contains instructions on turning in your community service. If you do not see your school or organization listed, please let us know and we will try our best to help.
Card Criteria
Creativity:
The card must have some sort of color and design, not just a card with just the words “Thank You” written on it. These special cards are not store-bought. Instead, they are crafted carefully and thoughtfully with creativity and a blank piece of paper. We are not looking for art prodigies - we are looking for those who care and put their hearts into these cards. Art is subjective, and we believe that as long as anyone sets their heart to it, it will turn out beautiful. If you choose to write a letter, please make it interesting and well-thought-out.
Personalization:
The cards and letters should have a short note of introduction on the inside of the card; name, age, grade, school, fun fact, etc. Ask them any questions or add comments. Sign off with something along the lines of “Thank you for your service!"
Submitting Your Card:
Please place all cards back into the bag (including envelopes if provided) and return them to the address or person you received the cards from. Refrain from throwing away any component of the card kit.
